My Personal Book Review – The Nightingale By Kristin Hannah

I just finished this book and found myself staring blankly at the wall in front of my bed. It truly moves you; it leaves a lasting impact.

I’m more of a romance, lovey-dovey, a bit spicy book lover. Give me a fantasy book once in a while and I’m happy. Personal development is my jam! Stories about war and hurt are not something I often read. But this book was an exception.

Do I regret reading it? Absolutely not. Is it my typical genre? Not at all—my anxiety doesn’t usually gravitate toward books like this, but WOW.

I’ve been seeing this book all over TikTok, so I decided to give it a shot. After a quick glance at the back cover, I realized it was set during World War II—definitely not my usual genre, but the hype was too compelling to ignore.

I read this book in just a few days; I couldn’t put it down, even though the events shattered my heart. I want to avoid spoilers, so I’ll keep my comments vague.

The story revolves around two sisters navigating life in France as the Germans invade. Kristin Hannah did a phenomenal job of telling their story; at every turn, I felt as if I were watching a movie unfold.

I can’t quite explain it, but this book touched my soul. It was beautifully written, and despite the emotional turmoil it caused, I have no regrets about reading it.

If you’re interested in a heroic tale about two sisters during World War II, I highly recommend picking up this book.

Have you read it? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Sending you all love
